Upscayl

Upscayl wraps Real-ESRGAN and related models in a dead-simple desktop app: drop an image, pick a model and scale factor, get a 4x upscale processed entirely locally on your GPU via Vulkan — no cloud, no subscription, works on AMD cards just as well as NVIDIA. For enlarging old photos, low-res assets, or artwork, results are impressively usable.

It’s not magic: faces and text can come out uncanny or smeared depending on the model, and you have far less fine control than Topaz offers (no batch parameter tuning, limited model selection). Big batches also take real time on modest GPUs. Treat it as a very good hammer, not a restoration suite.
