About
Gwenview opens instantly, flips through folders of images at speed, and handles the light tasks IrfanView users actually do daily: crop, rotate, resize, red-eye, and quick format conversion. It integrates tightly with KDE (thumbnails, tags, Dolphin previews) and handles RAW previews and animated formats fine.
It has none of IrfanView’s power-user extras — no batch rename engine of that depth, no plugin zoo, no scanning. Batch work is better done with converters or the command line. On GNOME it pulls in KDE dependencies, so GNOME users may prefer the stock Image Viewer or qView instead.
