Strawberry

Linux alternative to MusicBee

About

Strawberry forked from Clementine and focused on people who own their music: gapless playback, bit-perfect output via ALSA, extensive format support including hi-res files, smart playlists, tag editing, and album art fetching. If you managed a big local library in MusicBee or foobar2000, this is the closest full-featured equivalent that’s actively maintained.

It won’t scratch the streaming itch — Spotify/Apple Music integration isn’t the point (some scrobbling and Subsonic/streaming-server support exists). The UI is dense and utilitarian rather than pretty; GNOME users wanting something minimal may prefer other players. foobar2000’s component ecosystem has no real equal here, so heavily customized foobar setups won’t fully translate.
