Filelight

Linux alternative to WinDirStat

About

Filelight answers ‘where did my disk space go’ with concentric ring charts: each ring is a directory level, segment size is disk usage, and clicking drills in. It scans fast, integrates with Dolphin, and the ring visualization arguably reads quicker than WinDirStat’s treemap once your eyes adjust. Deleting offenders happens right from the app.

It’s KDE-flavored (GNOME’s Disk Usage Analyzer, baobab, is the equivalent there) and does nothing beyond visualization — no duplicate finding or cleaning rules; pair with Czkawka for that. Scanning system directories needs appropriate permissions, and network mounts scan slowly. Minor notes on a tool that does its one job well.
