KeePassXC

Linux alternative to KeePass

About

KeePassXC is the community-maintained successor to KeePass, and it’s excellent: strong local encryption, browser integration via an extension, TOTP support, SSH agent integration, and a KDBX database file you can sync however you like (Syncthing, your own server, a USB stick). No subscription, no vendor breach headlines with your vault in them.

The trade-off is that syncing is your problem — there’s no built-in cloud, and conflicts between devices are on you to manage. Auto-type, a KeePass staple, is also unreliable-to-broken on Wayland due to compositor security restrictions, so lean on the browser extension instead. If you want zero-effort multi-device sync, Bitwarden is the easier answer.
