About
LosslessCut does one thing brilliantly: keyframe-based cutting that copies streams instead of re-encoding, so trimming an hour of footage takes seconds and loses zero quality. It also extracts audio tracks, remuxes containers, merges segments, and batch-processes — ideal for cutting down vlog footage, dashcam clips, or screen recordings before real editing.
The constraint is inherent to the approach: cuts snap to keyframes unless you enable the experimental smart-cut mode, so frame-perfect cuts on long-GOP footage aren’t guaranteed. It’s an Electron app, and the UI takes a few minutes to decode. For anything needing effects or transitions, it hands off to a proper NLE.
