Vesktop repackages Discord’s web app with the Vencord mod preinstalled and, crucially for Linux users, working screen sharing with audio under Wayland — the thing the official client fumbled for years. It’s lighter on resources than official Discord, supports themes and plugins, and startup is faster.

The elephant: client mods violate Discord’s Terms of Service. Enforcement against mere client mods has historically been essentially nonexistent, but the risk is formally yours. Voice quality and niche features (some activities, certain stream options) can lag the official client, and each Discord update carries small breakage risk until Vencord catches up. Keep the official client installed as a fallback for important calls.
